Dr James Burridge
Summary
My current research interests lie in probability and statistical physics, applied to the social and natural world, including language evolution. I currently hold a Royal Society APEX award (2018-2021) and before this I was funded by a Leverhulme Research Fellowship (2016-2017). I studied Physics at the University of Warwick, followed by Maths Part III and a Ph.D. in Statistical Physics at Cambridge University. After my Ph.D. I worked in banking as a Quant in interest rate derivatives, and then as a school Mathematics and Physics teacher, before returning to academia in 2012.
