Mr Shane McKinder
Summary
I am the Associate Head (Students) for the School of Law. I also serve as the Course Leader and Admissions Tutor for Undergraduate Law Programmes at СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Law School. Additionally, I am a Principal Teaching Fellow responsible for coordinating and teaching a variety of modules across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My PhD focuses on children's social care law and its connection with child protection and international human rights law.
Research interests
My research interests are broadly related to child and family law. My specific interest is in child protection and children's social care law, focussing on understanding how the legal framework in the United Kingdom compares to the international human rights obligations for protecting children from harm. I am particularly interested in the substantive obligations the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child places on states.
